About this product
Gypsum is sold here as a single-ingredient botanical in fine powder form. Nothing is blended in, and no excipients are added beyond what the form requires.
The material is grown or wild-collected in Hubei, China, where the species is the reference region for this herb. Each lot is identified by botanical assay and screened for heavy metals, pesticide residue and microbial load before packing.
Traditional profile
In the Chinese materia medica this herb is classified as very cold and pungent, sweet, entering the Lung, Stomach meridians. It is described as a herb that clears qi-level heat; drains fire; relieves thirst.
Traditional use is not the same as proven efficacy, and this page does not claim either. If you are treating a medical condition, work with a qualified practitioner rather than self-prescribing.
